Guide Right Programs
Our Guide Right Program consists of mentoring youth at local high schools through the Duval County School District as well as providing scholarships over the last 18 years through our Kappa Scholars Program. You can locate a copy of this year’s application under the “Merit Scholarship Link”. Any high school student who resides in in the Jacksonville Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is eligible to apply.
Our signature Guide Right Program is our Jacksonville Kappa League. Middle School and High School young men participate in biweekly leadership workshops, in addition to conducting monthly volunteer activities. The Kappa League also worships together twice a month.
In addition, the Guide Right Program partners with the Jacksonville Chapter of Jack and Jill of America in a variety of leadership activities, financial literacy programs, and college tours.
The Jacksonville Silhouettes (the wives of Kappas) work in the Guide Right program by sponsoring etiquette classes and career development activities.
The Guide Right program also features a week-long career development series where participants are exposed to fraternity members in a wide variety of professional vocations.
The Guide Right program culminates in the annual public meeting where Kappa Scholars, Kappa Leaguers and the community are exposed to a themed-celebration of community honorees at the Jacksonville City Hall. The event streams live through coj.net. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 6pm.
