On February 5, 2014, two members of the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter Kappa League participated in National signing day as students across the country committed to athletic programs at colleges & universities. Raashed Kennion & Kendal E. Williams signed letters of intent to attend Auburn University (Football) and The Florida State University (Track) respectively.
Kennion is a senior at First Coast High School and plays Defensive End for the Buccaneers football team. Kennion has been given a three-star rating by the recruiting services as a weak-side defensive end, where he’s rated 73rd at his position and No. 214 in the state of Florida. He was one of the top 75 senior football players in Florida as selected by Florida Times-Union. He plans to major in Engineering or Pharmacy.
Williams is a senior at Stanton College Preparatory School and is 3-time state champion in the 200 meters, won the 100m as a sophomore, and finished as 100m runner-up as a freshman and junior. In 2013, the standout sprinter competed in the Adidas Dream 100 where he finished sixth. In 2014 alone Williams garnered 1st Place in the 100m at the Bob Hayes Invitational, Bolles Bulldog Classic, & Sandalwood Saints Open and 1st Place in the 200m at the Gateway Conference Championships, Bolles Bulldog Classic, & Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. Williams was voted the “Fastest Sprinter on the First Coast” in 2013.
