Kappa League
The Kappa League program was established fraternity-wide over 30 years ago, as the primary program that Alumni Chapters use to mentor young people in their communities. Since the program’s inception, the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has helped young adolescent African-American males develop and improve their leadership through the Guide Right Leadership & Development Program popularly known as the Kappa League.
This leadership & development program uses educational and inspirational techniques to promote academic success, career preparedness and life skills. Overall, the program’s aim is to develop future leaders of tomorrow. The program emphasizes several aspects of leadership development, teamwork and community trusteeship. Activities range from car washes to church visits, from road cleanups to business skill workshops, from community presentations to the annual Kappa Kampout & Enrichment Weekend.
Through these activities the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter assists youth in fostering a positive self-image that rest upon sound ethics and values. Over the past five years, recent participants of the program have demonstrated excellence in the community and have become role models amongst their peers. They are inspired to become future lawyers, businessmen, culinary artists and law enforcement. Therefore, the Guide Right/Kappa League Program has a consistent track record of producing youth reaching their full potential that’s second to none.
